Hi there, my name is
Rick Moyer. Thanks so much for stopping by "Take him with
you" I have been a communicator for over 30 years. It all
started back in Jr. High when I was introduced to speech
class. I absolutely loved it. After winning numerous
trophies and awards and three State championships in public
speaking during high school I graduated with a scholarship
in communications. I was heavily involved in band and drama
in high school as well. The first year of college I had a
spiritual awakening and gave my heart over to Jesus Christ
at a rock concert. I have always been a little different in
my communication style as I don't really like stuffy old
religious methods of talking about faith. I am convinced
that God is very cool, and see Him in many of the things we
live with everyday. It is from that perspective that I
attempt to share creatively by music, comedy, and
conversation.
I am have been married
to Amy now for almost 23 years and have three children the
oldest being 19 and the youngest 13. We live in the Pacific
Northwest.
I'm an avid musician
and lover of all types of music. I play guitar, piano,
drums, bass, saxophone and more. I converted my family room
into a recording studio where I work on many projects. I
have some cool keyboards and a couple of guitars plus a
little usb mixing board with some cool microphones. I really
enjoy science fiction, so much so that I belong to a forum
of fellow geeks that share same interests. The podcast I
contribute to on a weekly basis is called Treks
in Sci Fi with
Rico Dostie. I really enjoy the friendships I have made all
over the world. I am inspired to write in an RPG game there
and share my life with some great folks. I have done many
Star
Trek parody songs
that a lot of people enjoy. I also have recorded many
instrumental songs as well as some vocal projects. For the
time being you can listen for free by going here.
I have had quite a
career over my short lifetime. I have worked in radio as a
DJ at KXRO, KDUX, program director, music director and
station manager of KGHO in the 90's. I have played in a rock
band, hosted special radio programs and even have done some
director of development at the Union Gospel Mission. I have
worked for an Internet service provider in tech support and
Internet banner ad sales. During all of that I helped
organize and run a youth group at a local church. Then
around eleven years ago I went into full time pastoring at a
church.
I resigned from the
church in January of 2009 to pursue new ways of sharing my
faith without the confines of four walls. Now my family and
I have taken a step of faith and created "Take him with you"
a weekly podcast and inspirational website to help us all
explore our spiritual side. I am a firm believer that many
people are turned off by our faith because it can be too
traditional and stuffy. To me Jesus is not boring, he is
amazing, and I am excited about sharing what the Bible says
about life and everyday living. I know many people will
never step foot in a traditional church, but by downloading
a podcast, joining some others on Skype and sharing in an
online community we can all explore how God relates to our
everyday life. What a refreshing way to explore your
personal faith by taking HIM with you, on your commute,
walk, break at work and more. He certainly is interested in
everyone, not just those that walk into a church on Sunday
mornings. I look forward to praying for you and your family.
We are attempting to
pay the bills by faith and the support from listeners on a
weekly or monthly basis. My wife and I don't live
extravagantly and don't have a huge amount of overhead. It
is our hope that we can share a message of hope and help in
a non-traditional way yet still remain spiritually
significant. We are not a non-profit corporation, but rather
an LLC under the direction of MMM (Moyer
Multi Media LLC)
Donations are not tax deductible, but are certainly
appreciated.
I am available to
