Words of Wisdom this week from 1st Peter 4:7-21 (message)
7-11Everything in the world is about to be wrapped up, so take nothing for granted. Stay wide-awake in prayer. Most of all, love each other as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for practically anything. Be quick to give a meal to the hungry, a bed to the homeless—cheerfully. Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God’s words; if help, let it be God’s hearty help. That way, God’s bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and he’ll get all the credit as the One mighty in everything—encores to the end of time. Oh, yes!
Glory Just Around the Corner
12-13Friends, when life gets really difficult, don’t jump to the conclusion that God isn’t on the job. Instead, be glad that you are in the very thick of what Christ experienced. This is a spiritual refining process, with glory just around the corner.
Then a quick promo for Jen and Angela’s way cool podcast THE ANOMALY click here and check it out.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT!
We’re not gonna take it!
I talk about the ride home from the concert that changed my life. The kids asked me to turn off the stereo and talk about what had happened. So I talk about that.
They asked questions like:
Who created God?
Why is there suffering in the world?
How do we know the Bible is true?
Do you want me to cover some of those questions on Take Him With You? email me and let me know rick@takehimwithyou.com
So we talked about what should we do now? After actually giving our heart over to God. Where do we go from here?
1. Read the Bible- don’t check your brains at the door just read it for yourself. It’s not all boring. There is a lot of cool things in it. Give it a shot. I recommend starting in the book of John in the New Testament.
Cool places to read the Bible online:

http://www.crosswalk.com

2. Talk to God- sharing our heart with God is really important.
3. Hang out with folks that want to know God more too.
4. Share about God.
I talk about a guy I ran into on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, he had a big white cross.
I wrap up talking about how God got my attention.
Email me any questions you have. I am challenging folks to read the gospel of John. It’s so cool when you read it for yourself.
Then I play a song that I helped write called “Dear Lord”
Here are the lyrics–
Dear Lord by Rick Moyer, Don Stone, Mike Pirianian and Kenny Miller
(whisper)Dear Lord
Well they say the fields are ready, and the harvest is it hand
and I say Lord, well I’m only just one man
You’ve given me a purpose since I have first believed
My heart’s been changed inside and new one been conceived.
Dear Lord, I pray, Dear Lord I say, I’ll always love you
So my prayer it echoes loudly in the chambers of my soul
pressing forward always to the high calling of your goal
To serve you is an honor, yes the fight it must go on
As long as Satan’s boasting I’ll sing to you this song
Dear Lord, I pray, Dear Lord I say, I’ll always love you
Some people try to sway me but they’ve never really walked
Serving you is more than theology and talk
So from the day I made you Lord till the day I die
Out of the depths of who I am you’ll always here me cry
Dear Lord, I pray, Dear Lord I say, I’ll always love you
******************************
After the song is done I play a promo for Kenny and Jenny’s Knights of the Guild Podcast http://knightsoftheguild.podbean.com
I say a prayer for you, and introduce next week’s podcast subject… it’s called Using and Abusing, all about living in two different worlds, and how it was harmful on me.
